Guide, Teacher & Lineage Holder

Guiding you back to your natural cadence of breath and stillness.

I founded Arte Yoga Studio as an architectural refuge from the relentless pace of modern life — a physical and digital haven where movement is stripped of performance and restored to sacred self-inquiry.

01 / The Lineage

Rooted in rigor, softened by compassion.

Elena’s teaching bridges classical Eastern discipline with Western trauma-informed neurobiology, offering an authentic sanctuary for modern nervous systems.

Formal credentials
  • Ashtanga Vinyasa Research Institute (Mysore, India)
  • Advanced Iyengar Precision Alignment (700h)
  • Somatic Experiencing Trauma-Informed Facilitator
  • Classical Pranayama & Yoga Nidra Mastership

My journey began over fifteen years ago in high-intensity classical ashtanga shalas. While the fire of discipline shaped my inner architecture, I witnessed countless practitioners — including myself — trade nervous system regulation for structural contortion. True yoga was never meant to be an aesthetic conquest.

A decade spent studying precision biomechanics alongside renowned Iyengar masters unraveled my approach to form: alignment is not about looking flawless from the outside, but feeling resonant and structurally sovereign from within.

Integrating somatic resolution practices and polyvagal theory transformed Arte from an exercise studio into a true refuge for the nervous system. Here, we invite the subtle body to exhale its stored hypervigilance. We honor the threshold between exertion and stillness.

“The pose does not demand that you reshape your humanity to fit its geometry. Rather, the geometry yields, cradling the exact truth of who you are today.”

The Arte philosophy

Four Pillars of Our Teaching

Every sequence, breath practice, and silent sit we curate is anchored firmly in four immovable principles.

  • Pillar 01

    Breath as Anchor

We never sacrifice respiratory smoothness for physical extension. The diaphragm is our compass, telling us whether to advance or soften.

    Pranayama core
  • Pillar 02

    Sustainable Alignment

Precise geometry rooted in joint longevity. We build postures from the ground up, honoring bone architecture over visual performance.

    Functional asana
  • Pillar 03

    The Art of Pausing

Stillness is where integration happens. In unhurried transitions and deliberate rests, the body has space to absorb the medicine of motion.

    Restorative nidra
  • Pillar 04

    Living Practice Off-Mat

Equanimity forged on the mat is tested in daily relationships, work, and unexpected friction. We practice to show up more softly and bravely for the world.

An altar of linen, limestone, and unadorned light.

Our physical space in the coastal hills was shaped to quiet sensory overwhelm. Every material was chosen for its grounding honesty.

Epistle to the practitioner

From Elena’s desk

Dear traveler, whether you step into our physical studio with salt-laden hair or roll out your mat in the corner of your bedroom thousands of miles away, I want to release you from an invisible burden: you do not need to arrive here already calm.

You are permitted to arrive disoriented, tight-shouldered, exhausted from holding the architecture of your family or career together. Yoga is not a trophy reserved for the already peaceful. It is the kiln in which our fractures are tenderly attended to.

I do not consider myself a guru. I am simply a practitioner who has walked the path of somatic listening long enough to recognize the signposts. I will never ask you to perform for me. My only commitment is to hold a safe perimeter around your practice so you can unbind your breath, trust your gravity, and remember the quiet truth that has always lived underneath your hurry.

Take your time. Drink a cup of warm water. When you are ready, I will be here waiting at the threshold.

With reverence and steady breath,

Frequently Explored Questions

Is this practice suitable for beginners or recovering bodies?

Yes. Elena designs each sequence with non-hierarchical modifications. The restorative, breath and mobility practices are especially suited to joint sensitivity, past injuries, or a depleted nervous system.

How does the digital sanctuary differ from in-person retreats?

The digital sanctuary gives daily on-demand access to the full practice library and guided programs, with reflections shared alongside each practice. In-person retreats offer silent immersion and personal postural adjustments.

What props will I need to practice alongside Elena?

A firm mat, two cork or foam blocks, one woven blanket, and a cotton strap are ideal. For restorative practices a bolster helps, though household pillows and rolled towels work beautifully.
